Dozens of anti-bullying organizations have sprung up in recent years, and legislation has been enacted in all 50 states mandating processes and procedures for reporting and responding to bullying. While these grassroots efforts and legislative initiatives raise awareness of the need for bullying prevention, few provide proven research-based solutions for engaging our educators and children in combating bullying. And even fewer provide sufficient funding to meaningfully prevent bullying in our financially strapped schools.
It’s time for individuals and private enterprises to help defray the cost of implementing effective bullying prevention in our schools. Project HEAR Us presents a powerful opportunity for community-minded organizations willing to make a meaningful commitment to impacting the daily lives of our youth.
